ABHA number is a 14-digit unique number used to identify people, authenticate them, and thread their health records across multiple healthcare service providers. It is a combination of the ABHA number, PHR address, PHR app/health locker. ABHA address is a self-declared username just like the email address and is used to sign into the Health Information Exchange & consent manager. ABHA ID or ABHA Card is a unique identity for your health that facilitates you a health locker to receive, store & share medical records from health service providers with your consent. It is important to note that ABHA is an integral part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in September 2021 to create a central repository that would store the medical history of Indians so that it becomes easy to track and share the same with clinics and hospitals.
