Adaptive Audio is a feature available on the second-generation AirPods Pro that automatically blends Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) together using machine learning. The feature adjusts the media volume on the AirPods Pro based on environmental conditions and the users volume preferences. Adaptive Audio gradually tweaks the blend of ANC and transparency based on changes in the users surroundings, such as entering a loud coffee shop or sitting near a noisy A/C unit. The feature is part of a suite of new features for the AirPods Pro, including Personalized Volume and Conversation Awareness, that expand the toolset of the most recent AirPods Pro. Adaptive Audio can be enabled or disabled on an iPhone or iPad in Settings > AirPods.
