Adaptive Audio is a feature available on the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) that automatically blends Transparency mode and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) together using machine learning. The idea of Adaptive Audio is that you shouldn’t need to manually switch between the two modes, as your AirPods can auto-switch for you based on the conditions in your environment. Adaptive Audio also includes Personalized Volume, which adjusts the media volume on your AirPods Pro based on environmental conditions and your volume preferences. Additionally, Conversation Awareness is another feature of Adaptive Audio that seamlessly lowers your media volume and enhances voices in front of you when you start talking while wearing your AirPods Pro. To enable or disable Adaptive Audio, you can go to Settings > AirPods on your iPhone or iPad. You can also switch between noise-control modes while wearing both AirPods Pro earphones by pressing and holding the force sensor on either AirPod.
