The Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a national-level competitive exam conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to select officers for various branches, including flying and ground duties (technical and non-technical)

. The test is held twice a year in February and August

. AFCAT is open to both male and female candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force

. The selection process for AFCAT consists of two stages

Eligibility for AFCAT varies depending on the branch and post candidates are applying for. Some general qualifications include a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or a BE/B Tech degree (four years course) from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks

. For the Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) branch, candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level or have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India)

. The AFCAT exam is conducted across various locations in India, including Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, and Varanasi

. The results of the AFCAT exam are displayed in the AFCAT candidate login portal, and successful candidates are eligible for registration in the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) for further testing
