An air waybill (AWB) is a document that serves as a contract between the shipper and the carrier for goods shipped by an international air courier. It contains detailed information about the shipment, such as the shipper's and recipient's names and addresses, the value of the cargo, the origin and destination airport codes, the number of pieces, gross weight, a description of the goods, and any special instructions. The AWB also serves as a receipt of goods by the airline and is enforceable by law. It is typically an 11-digit number and is used for tracking shipments
