An innate personality refers to the intrinsic or inherent qualities that a person is born with and that remain relatively stable throughout their lifetime. These qualities are mostly determined by genetics and include physical attributes, temperament, and certain cognitive abilities. Personality traits are innate and mostly stable throughout a persons life, while character is acquired and shaped through a combination of skills, experience, attitude, habits, daily rituals, and general mindset about life and business. Personality tests can measure many different traits, but the most established personality test framework uses what is called the "Big Five" or "Five Factor Model." These are the five dimensions of personality that consistently emerge in empirical research: Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Openness (to Experience), and Stress Tolerance. Although innate personality traits are mostly stable and unchangeable throughout a persons life, environmental influences can also drastically change a persons personality for better or for worse.
