An RBT certification is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) . It is designed to recognize individuals who have the skills and knowledge to work effectively with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. RBTs assist in delivering behavior-analytic services and practice under the direction and close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and/or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who is responsible for all work an RBT performs. To be eligible for RBT certification, applicants need to be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent, undergo a background check and an abuse registry check, and complete at least 40 hours of training in ABA. Additionally, they must complete a certain number of supervised hours under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) . The RBT exam is comprehensive and covers a wide range of topics related to ABA techniques and practices.
