AppSelector is a feature available on select Android devices that gives users more control over the apps that can be installed on their device during the initial setup process. It allows users to easily select and install various applications when they first begin setting up their new device. AppSelector is available on most T-Mobile and Metro devices operating on Android 8.1 and above.
AppSelector will automatically notify users approximately 15 minutes after setting up their new device, or when they have performed a master reset on an existing device. Users can access the Settings app on their device, select Apps or Apps & notification settings, locate and select the AppSelector or AppManager app, then select Uninstall to remove it.
According to some Reddit users, AppSelector is a forced app that comes pre-installed on some Android devices and cannot be easily removed. It is seen as a way for T-Mobile to push sponsored apps and games to its customers. However, some users have found AppSelector to be helpful when setting up a new device.
