Applications on iPhone are software programs that run under iOS, the operating system that powers Apples mobile devices. iPhone apps are available through the Apple App Store and can be developed by companies other than Apple. There are hundreds of thousands of applications available, ranging from maps and entertainment guides to business and money management. Many companies have developed iPhone apps for marketing purposes, such as a grill manufacturer that provides recipes and grilling techniques, or musicians who create games that tie in with their latest album.
The App Library is a top-level screen that contains all the apps installed on your iPhone sorted by category. It makes it easier to rediscover apps you might have forgotten you had downloaded, or find apps that you can’t remember the name of (and therefore can’t search for them using Spotlight) . You can remove apps from your home screen(s), but still access them from App Library. The apps in App Library are organized in categories intelligently, based on how you use your apps. You can add apps in App Library to the Home Screen, but you can’t move them to another category in App Library.
