A fraction is a way to represent a part of a whole or a ratio. It consists of two integers: a numerator (the number of parts considered) and a denominator (the total number of equal parts that make up the whole). For example, the fraction 34\frac{3}{4}43 means 3 parts out of 4 equal parts of something. In general, a fraction can be written as ab\frac{a}{b}ba where aaa is the numerator and bbb is the denominator, and b≠0b\neq 0b=0. Fractions can represent division, ratios, and parts of a whole.
