Bali is a province of Indonesia and an island in the Indonesian archipelago. It is located in the Java Sea, approximately 8 degrees from the equator, and is situated between Indonesia's islands. Bali is known for its ancient culture, warm hospitality, and picturesque landscape of hills, mountains, coastlines, and beaches. It is the only remaining stronghold of Hinduism in the archipelago, and Balinese life is centered on religion—a blend of Hinduism, Buddhism, Malay ancestor cult, and animistic and magical beliefs and practices. Bali is also famous for its luxurious beach resorts, exciting nightlife, and exotic temples. Bali's largest and capital city is Denpasar, located in the south of Bali.
