Bhakti yoga is a spiritual path or practice within Hinduism focused on loving devotion towards a personal god as the path for spirituality. It is one of the three classical paths in Hinduism which lead to Moksha, the other paths being Jnana yoga and Karma yoga. Bhakti yoga involves surrendering to the Divine or uniting with the universal consciousness, through practices such as chanting, singing, dancing, and selfless service within the community. The Bhakti Sutras explain that bhakti yoga is both the means and the end: aparabhakti, or lower bhakti, is the way to cultivate and deepen devotion, and parabhakti, or higher bhakti, is the ultimate goal of merging with the Divine. Bhakti yoga is a practice of selfless devotion and recognition of the sacred or divine in everything.
