Brandon Blackstock was sick with malignant melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer. He battled this cancer for over three years before passing away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7, 2025. In addition to melanoma being the cause of death, seizures were also listed as a significant contributing factor to his passing. His family shared that he bravely fought cancer and requested privacy during this difficult time. Kelly Clarkson, his ex-wife, postponed her Las Vegas shows to be present for their children due to his illness.
