Brow lamination is a new beauty treatment that has become increasingly popular in recent years. It is a semi-permanent procedure that involves using chemicals to set eyebrow hairs in a vertical direction, making them appear brushed up and creating a fuller, fluffier look. The process typically involves coating the brows with two different chemicals: a relaxing cream and a setting solution. These chemicals allow the brow technician to brush the brows upward and "set" the hairs in this new direction. The treatment is great for those who love a ‘brushed-up look but can’t seem to tame their brow hair due to it being too straight or fine. Brow lamination can last from four to eight weeks, depending on how well you look after your brows. The procedure itself doesn’t take very long, only around 15-20 minutes, but some brow lamination treatments also include the tinting and/or waxing of brows before or after, which altogether can take around 30-40 minutes in a salon. However, eye doctors say the procedure raises safety concerns as the chemicals used can irritate the thin skin of the eyelids and even permanently damage vision if they get into the eyes.
