The Carabao Cup is an annual knockout competition in mens domestic football in England, which is currently known as the EFL Cup for sponsorship reasons. It is one of the three major honors of the domestic football season. The competition is open to all clubs participating in the Premier League and the English Football League, and it is played over seven rounds, all single leg, with the exception of the semi-finals, which operate as home and away ties. The winner of the competition qualifies for the play-off round of the UEFA Conference League. The Carabao Cup has had many sponsors in the last four decades, and Carabao is the current title sponsor of the League Cup, as it has been since 2017, and will remain so until 2024.
