- Typhoid fever (a serious infection that can cause fever, headache, and stomach pain)
Ceftriaxone injection is also used to prevent infection in people having certain types of surgery. It is injected into a muscle or as an infusion into a vein (IV) . The dosage is based on the medical condition and response to treatment. It is important to drink plenty of fluids while using this medication unless the doctor directs otherwise.
