Discovery Drive Tracker is a telematics device that is part of the Discovery Insure program, which is a motor insurance program for good drivers. The device is made up of two components: the Discovery Insure smartphone app and the Vitality Drive Sensor. The device uses a smartphones accelerometer and GPS to provide a driver with detailed driving information, including harsh braking and cornering, distracted driving examples, speeding, personalized driving tips, and a leaderboard function that ranks a driver's score against that of their friends as well as other drivers in South Africa. The standalone DQ-Track installation is a deep install device, which means that the device needs to be hidden inside the vehicle. The installation process takes some time to complete. The Discovery Insure app is available as a free download from the App Store or Google Play Store, for both Discovery Insure and non-Discovery Insure clients.
