Double line spacing in Word refers to the act of adding a blank line between every line of text, like an extra bit of padding, which makes the document easier to read and has more openings to either scribble notes or add comments. There are several ways to double space in Word, including:
- Double-space the whole document: Go to Design > Paragraph Spacing, and choose Double.
- Double-space only part of the document: Select the paragraphs you want to change, go to Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing, and choose 2.0.
- Use Paragraph: Go to the “Home” tab, go to the “Paragraph” section, and select the Line and Paragraph Spacing button. Then, select a spacing option.
- Use the Paragraph dialog box: Select the paragraph or paragraphs you want to adjust, click the Line and Paragraph Spacing button, and select a spacing option. For more spacing options, select Line Spacing Options to open the Paragraph dialog box.
- Use the Line Spacing dropdown: Select the Double option from Paragraph Spacing dropdown or select 2.0 from Line and Paragraph Spacing dropdown.
These methods allow you to customize the spacing to your desired preferences.
