Dusk generally refers to the transition from day to night, and it is the darkest stage of twilight after sunset and just before nightfall. It is the time when the Earths atmosphere still reflects a large portion of sunlight, coloring a clear sky in different shades of orange and red. There are three stages of dusk: civil dusk, nautical dusk, and astronomical dusk, each marking the end of one of the three phases of evening twilight. Civil dusk occurs when the geometric center of the Suns disk goes 6 degrees below the horizon, while nautical dusk occurs when the geometric center of the Suns disk is 12 degrees below the horizon, and astronomical dusk occurs when the geometric center of the Suns disk is 18 degrees below the horizon. At the end of civil twilight, such lighting is required to read outside. Dusk can be used to create an ominous tone and has been used as a title for many projects.
