The encryption password in Hik-Connect is also known as the device verification code. It is a security code that can be used to enable or disable the video and image encryption function to encrypt videos or pictures. The default device verification code is usually on the device label. If no verification code is found, the user can enter the device verification code created when enabling Hik-Connect service. The verification code/encryption key can be found on the recorder directly under the main menu > system configuration > network. To enter the encryption password, the user needs to go to the Settings page on the device list page and swipe the device name to the left and tap on it. Alternatively, the user can tap on the device name or tap on the thumbnail mode and enter the Live View page, then tap on Settings. There are also video tutorials available on YouTube that demonstrate how to input the encryption password in Hik-Connect.
