Epcot is a theme park located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida. It was opened on October 1, 1982, and was the second of four theme parks built at Walt Disney World. Epcot was originally conceived by Walt Disney as an experimental planned community that would serve as a center for American enterprise and urban living. The name EPCOT is an acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. The park spans 305 acres and is more than twice the size of Magic Kingdom. Epcot offers a distinctive theme park experience with a variety of attractions, themed festivals, international cuisine, live entertainment, and events. The park is divided into two main areas: Future World and World Showcase. Future World features attractions that focus on technological advancements, while World Showcase features pavilions representing different countries and their cultures.
