The G20 Summit is an annual meeting of the Group of Twenty (G20), a forum for international economic cooperation and decision-making. The G20 consists of 19 countries and the European Union, representing the worlds major economies. The 2023 G20 Summit, also known as the G20 New Delhi Summit, was the eighteenth meeting of the G20 and the first to be held in India and South Asia.
Under the Indian Presidency, the G20 in 2023 focused on the theme, 'One Earth, One Family, One Future.' This theme emphasized the value of human, animal, plant, and microorganisms and their interconnectedness on planet Earth and in the wider universe. The summit addressed various issues, including agriculture, anti-corruption, culture, digital economy, disaster risk reduction, development, education, employment, environment and climate sustainability, energy transitions, health, trade and investment, and tourism.
The G20 Summit does not have a permanent secretariat and is hosted by a rotating presidency. The 2023 G20 Summit was held on 9-10 September in the International Exhibition-Convention Centre (IECC), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The summit was attended by G20 members, invitee countries by the Indian Government, and 43 Heads of Delegations, making it the largest G20 Summit to date.
