A homogeneous mixture is a type of mixture in which the components are uniformly mixed and have the same properties throughout. In other words, the mixture has a uniform composition throughout its bulk, and we can observe only one phase of matter in a homogeneous mixture. Examples of homogeneous mixtures include rainwater, vinegar, air, and lemonade. When a ray of light is passed through a homogeneous mixture, the path of light is not seen, and the particles of the mixture cannot be differentiated. Homogeneous mixtures are also called solutions. The particles of a homogeneous mixture are less than one nanometer in size, and a homogeneous mixture does not show the Tyndall effect. The boundaries of particles cannot be differentiated, and the constituent particles of a homogeneous mixture cannot be separated using centrifugation or decantation.
