Hyperloop
Hyperloop is a proposed high-speed transportation system for both public and goods transport. It was initially proposed as a concept by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, in a white paper back in 2013. The system consists of a network of tubes connecting mobility hubs around the world, with pods traveling at ultra-high speeds in a vacuum. The basic idea of Hyperloop is that the passenger pods or capsules travel through a tube, either above or below ground, and to reduce friction, most of the air is removed from the tubes by pumps. The European Hyperloop Center is under construction and will have a 420-meter test facility, including a lane switch, and is planned to commence testing in 2024.
