An ideal fuel for class 8 should have the following characteristics:
- It should be readily available.
- It should be inexpensive.
- It should leave behind any undesirable residues.
- It should not emit harmful gases on burning.
- It should have proper ignition temperature.
- It should be combustible in nature.
- It should have high calorific value.
Examples of ideal fuels include natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) . An ideal fuel should not pollute the air on burning by giving out poisonous gases.
