Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and the largest in the Solar System. It is a gas giant with a mass more than two and a half times that of all the other planets in the Solar System combined, and slightly less than one one- thousandth the mass of the Sun. Jupiter is primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, and it has the largest planetary atmosphere in the Solar System, with a pressure in its deep interior so high that the hydrogen there exists in a fluid metallic state. The planet is known for its iconic Great Red Spot, a giant storm that has been raging for more than 300 years. Jupiter has a system of rings and 95 officially recognized moons, and it has been explored by several spacecraft since the 1970s, including NASA's Pioneer and Voyager, the ESA/NASA Ulysses probe, the NASA/ESA/ASI Cassini-Huygens mission, NASA's New Horizons probe, and NASA's Galileo orbiter. The planet's strong magnetic field and intense bursts of radio noise make it a unique and fascinating object of study in the Solar System
