BPO stands for Business Process Outsourcing, while KPO stands for Knowledge Process Outsourcing. BPO primarily focuses on reducing costs, while KPO focuses on providing knowledge-based services, such as research and development, data analysis, engineering services, healthcare services, and human resources, to support core business functions. KPO is a continuation of BPO, but it involves far more specialized, analytical, and knowledge-based work. KPO requires advanced analytical and technical skills, and it involves outsourcing of core functions which may or may not give cost benefit to the parent company but surely helps in value addition. KPO services are more specialized and knowledge-based than BPO services, and they require specialized knowledge and skills, which are not readily available within the organization. In contrast, BPOs are human resources outsourcing services that handle processes on behalf of a client.
