Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) is an Indian shared universe of action thriller films created by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The first feature of the universe, Kaithi, was released in 2019, and the second installment, Vikram, was released on June 3, 2022. The universe follows an elaborate conflict between law enforcement officers and vigilantes in South India who are at war against a dangerously powerful drug cartel led by crime lord ‘Rolex’. The LCU is currently the 4th highest grossing Tamil film franchise. The third chapter of LCU is expected to garner good returns at the box office. Former inspector Bejoy, who is now part of Vikram’s gang, is a vital character in LCU as he connected Vikram and Kaithi. However, it is not yet clear whether Thalapathy 67 is part of the same cinematic universe as Kamal Haasan’s Vikram and Karthi’s Kaithi.
