Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing that involves using a small handheld tool made of several tiny needles to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. The tool creates hair-like strokes along the eyebrows while depositing pigment into the skin, resulting in realistic-looking brow hairs that don’t wash off for a year or more. Microblading is also sometimes called embroidery, feather touch, microstroking, 3D eyebrow embroidery, or hair-like strokes. The procedure is a semi-permanent tattoo that can fade depending on multiple factors, including the quality of pigment/ink used, UV exposure, elements found in skincare products, and/or medications. The treatment lasts from 18 to 30 months, although it can sometimes last for up to 3 years. A touch-up session is encouraged 6 weeks after the first microblading procedure, and every 12-18 months thereafter. Microblading is an ideal solution for clients who have patchy, thin, or uneven eyebrows and are looking for the most natural-looking results. However, not everyone is a candidate for microblading, and there are different elements to consider such as skin condition and health.
