The minimum wage in New York State as of January 1, 2025, is:
- $15.50 per hour for areas outside New York City, Long Island County, and Westchester County.
- $16.50 per hour for New York City, Long Island County, and Westchester County.
These rates represent an increase of about 50 cents from the previous year. There are different wage structures for tipped workers and fast food workers, but the base minimum wage for most workers follows the above regional distinctions. The minimum wage is scheduled to increase again on January 1, 2026, by another 50 cents in each region.
