Muhurat trading is a one-hour auspicious window on Diwali for stock market activity, which is a symbolic and age-old ritual observed by the trading community on Diwali. It is believed to bring wealth and prosperity throughout the year to investors engaging in trading during this period. Muhurat trading in 2023 will take place on Sunday, November 12, from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will conduct a special one-hour trading session in the evening known as ‘Muhurat trading. During this time slot, various segments, including equity, commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, equity futures & options, and securities lending & borrowing (SLB), will be open.
