Murphys Law is an adage or epigram that is typically stated as "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong". In some formulations, it is extended to "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time". The law is often cited as a form of the second law of thermodynamics (the law of entropy) because both are predicting a tendency of things to go from order to disorder. There are various corollaries to Murphy's Law, such as "If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong". Despite its popularity, some people, such as Richard Dawkins, consider Murphy's Law to be nonsense because it requires inanimate objects to have desires of their own or to react according to one's own desires.
