NameDrop is a feature introduced in iOS 17 that allows iPhone users to quickly share their contact information with nearby iPhones or Apple Watches. To use NameDrop, simply hold your iPhone near the top of another person's iPhone, and a prompt will appear on both screens, allowing you to choose if you want to share and receive contact cards. You can select what contact information you wish to share, such as phone numbers and email addresses. It's important to note that users have to manually authorize the transaction, and NameDrop only works for sending new contact information, not updating an existing contact. If you want to turn off NameDrop, you can do so by going to Settings, then General, and AirDrop, and toggle the "Bringing Devices Together" option to the off position
