what is nfobc

NF-OBC stands for National Fellowship for Other Backward Classes. It is a scheme funded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and implemented by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) . The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) who are pursuing higher studies such as regular and full-time M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Engineering & Technology, and other fields. The total number of slots for NFOBC under the scheme is 1000 per year.
