An output device is any piece of computer hardware that converts information or data into a human-perceptible form or, historically, into a physical machine-readable form for use with other non-computerized equipment. Output devices receive data from a computer and translate that data into another form, such as audio, visual, textual, or hard copy such as a printed document. The most common form of output device is a display device, which presents output visually on a computer screen. Other examples of output devices include printers, speakers, headphones, projectors, GPS devices, and Braille embossers. Output devices convert computer data into human-understandable form and allow users to view and get the results of input from a computer. Without an output device, it would be impossible to determine what the computer is doing.
