PGDM stands for Post Graduate Diploma in Management. It is a two-year business management program that focuses on providing practical knowledge and skills in the field of management. The program is offered by autonomous B-Schools recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The curriculum of PGDM is similar to that of an MBA, with a focus on management studies at the postgraduate level. The program aims to prepare students for the industry through rigorous case studies, seminars, and industry-oriented training programs.
Although PGDM is a diploma program, it is considered equivalent to an MBA degree if the college offering the program is accredited by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The main reason for it being a diploma program and not a degree is that only universities governed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) are permitted to award degrees.
