A Prince Albert piercing is a type of genital piercing that is inserted into the urethra and out through a piercing hole on the underside of the glans. It is named after Prince Albert, the royal consort to Queen Victoria, who allegedly had this piercing in order to be able to fix his penis to his tight military trousers without any visible bulge. The piercing is worn primarily for aesthetic reasons, but it can also provide additional sexual stimulation for both the wearer and their partner. After it has fully healed, it should be stretched slightly so that it is more comfortable to wear. The piercing is usually worn with a ball closure or segment ring, but a specially made Prince’s Wand (penis plug) piece of jewelry can also be used. The piercing is done by a licensed professional piercer and proper hygiene during the healing process is a must to avoid infection.
