Private Compute Services is a suite of services that provide a privacy-preserving bridge between Private Compute Core and the cloud. Private Compute Core is a secure, isolated data processing environment inside the Android operating system that gives users control of the data inside, such as deciding if, how, and when it is shared with others. Private Compute Services enables features like Live Translate without sharing continuous sensing data with service providers, including Google. It uses a set of privacy-preserving technologies including federated learning, federated analytics, and private information retrieval. Private Compute Services provides a way for privacy-preserving Android features to use the cloud without compromising user privacy. Communication between sandboxed features and Private Compute Services happens over open-source APIs that remove identifying information. Private Compute Services includes the following APIs: Private Information Retrieval, Federated compute, and HTTP download.
