Private DNS is an option to encrypt DNS queries, which means that your searches and other DNS queries are encrypted and safe from prying eyes. It is a secure medium of browsing, enables extensive access to a blocked website, and prevents internet threats. Private DNS mode allows you to send your network data to a secure DNS address rather than the one that would otherwise most likely be controlled by your internet service provider or the internet service provider of a public Wi-Fi network.

To enable Private DNS Mode on an Android device running at least Version 9 of the operating system (which was released in 2018), open the Settings app and then tap Network & internet. Youll find the entry for Private DNS near the bottom of the Network & internet window. If you don't find it, go back to the main Settings page and do a search for Private DNS. You need to have the address of a provider that offers Private DNS, such as 1dot1dot1dot1dot1.cloudflare-dns.com. You can also choose Automatic, which will automatically switch to Google's Private DNS when it's available. The Automatic setting attempts to use TLS encryption with whatever DNS is currently assigned to your phone's connection. If it fails, then it will use the DNS server provided by your ISP.
