A recycle bin is a container used to hold recyclables before they are taken to recycling centers. However, in the context of computing, the Recycle Bin is a folder or directory where deleted items are temporarily stored in every version of Microsoft Windows since Windows 95. When a file or folder is deleted, it is added to the Recycle Bin, and it can be restored from there if needed. The Recycle Bin appears on the desktop by default and looks like a trashcan. In newer versions of Windows, the Recycle Bin icon may be hidden by default, but it can be shown again. Files in the Recycle Bin take up disk space on the computer, so it is recommended to occasionally empty the Recycle Bin. However, once files are removed from the Recycle Bin, they cannot be recovered.
