SailGP is an international sailing competition that features high-performance F50 foiling catamarans, where teams compete across a season of multiple grands prix around the world. The competition is considered the fastest racing on water, with intense races, iconic global venues, elite teams and athletes, and record-breaking speeds. SailGPs ambition is to be the world's most sustainable and purpose-driven global sports and entertainment platform, racing for a better future, as they believe sport has the power to change the world.
The SailGP competition consists of nine Sail Grand Prix events that take place across the world, culminating in a winner-takes-all podium race for one million dollars. Eight national teams are represented by the world's greatest athletes, and data is shared between the teams so there's nowhere to hide on the race course. The eight boats are at the cutting edge of technology, hitting nearly 100 kilometers per hour, and flight above the water in close quarters combat on short sharp circuits. SailGP exists to inspire the next generation of athletes and build a better future.
