The Satanic Church is a religious organization that practices LaVeyan Satanism, which is a non-theistic religion that does not believe in the existence of Satan as a literal being. Instead, Satan is viewed as a positive archetype that represents pride, carnality, and enlightenment, and of a cosmos which Satanists perceive to be motivated by a "dark evolutionary force of entropy that permeates all of nature and provides the drive for survival and propagation inherent in all living things". The Church of Satan does not have actual church buildings, and its members do not worship Satan. The Satanic Temple is another organization that is recognized as a religion by the US government and has ministers and congregations in America, Europe, and Australia. Members of The Satanic Temple do not believe in God or the devil, and their beliefs are articulated in "the seven tenets," which emphasize reason and science as well as values such as compassion and justice. The Satanic Temples political goals include advocating for the value of the separation of church and state.
