Shanks is one of the strongest characters in One Piece and is considered one of the most powerful pirates in the world. He is the chief of the Red-Hair Pirates and one of the Yonko, and his bounty of 4,048,900,000 berries is the highest among the current Yonko. Shanks is highly respected by both pirates and Marines, and he was an apprentice on the ship of Gol D. Roger.
Shanks powers and abilities are still shrouded in mystery, but he is a master of Haki and can use all three forms of it. His strength was teased to be on par with the other Yonko, and he has been shown to have devastating physical strength. In the manga, Shanks gave the biggest showcase of his powers, further explaining his fearsome reputation. However, he has never been shown fighting in the series.
