Slow rolling in poker is a frowned-upon behavior that is considered bad etiquette and unsportsmanlike. It involves intentionally delaying showing a winning hand at showdown or taking a long time to call a bet/raise with a very strong hand before showdown. Slow rolling can also occur when a player knows they have the best hand but purposely takes a long time to reveal their hand at showdown, giving the impression that their opponent might have the winner. Slow rolling is considered a pure show of bad sportsmanship and taunting, and the goal is to give the opponent hope that they are going to win the hand, only to pull the rug out from under them. Slow rolling is often done to antagonize an opponent, and it is widely viewed as being extremely bad poker etiquette.
