Surplus clothes, also known as export surplus garments or stock lot, are clothes that are counted as surplus rejected or canceled for various reasons. These clothes are generally made for export to other countries, but due to canceled orders, excess production, or other reasons, the manufacturing units are left with piles of surplus garments. Instead of bearing the loss of these unsold garments, they can cover their cost of manufacturing by selling the surplus stock at a much discounted price. Surplus clothes can be sold in export surplus stores, which sell original branded garments that may contain defective parts and/or defective trims. It is important to note that most of the garments sold in the export surplus stores are leftover garments or defective garments as per the buyer’s quality specification, or excess quantity produced by export garment manufacturers.
