The Campeones Cup is an annual soccer match played between the winners of the previous MLS Cup from Major League Soccer and the winners of the Campeón de Campeones from Liga MX. The competition was established by the two leagues in 2018 and is part of a larger partnership between the two most important soccer leagues in North America, MLS and Liga MX. The Campeones Cup is contested by the winner of the MLS Cup, held annually in November or December, and the Campeón de Campeones, held annually in July between the winners of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments in Liga MX. If a Liga MX team wins both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, then the team automatically wins the Campeón de Campeones and competes in the Campeones Cup.

The first Campeones Cup was played in 2018, and Atlanta United FC became the first MLS team to win, defeating Club América 3–2 in 2019. The 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but MLS and Liga MX announced that the game would return in 2021. In the history of Campeones Cup, MLS leads three wins to one against Liga MX. Tigres UANL conquered Toronto FC in the inaugural 2018 edition, Atlanta United defeated Club América 3-2 in the exciting 2019 match, the Columbus Crew resoundingly defeated Cruz Azul 2-0 in 2021, and New York City FC won a lively match against Atlas FC 2-0 in 2022. The 2023 edition of Campeones Cup will be hosted by Los Angeles Football Club at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.
