The capital of Germany is Berlin. Berlin is not only the capital but also the largest city in Germany by area and population. It serves as the seat of the German federal parliament and government, including the office of the Chancellor and the Bundestag. Although some federal ministries are partly based in Bonn, the official capital and main seat of government since reunification in 1990 is Berlin.
