The full form of GPS is Global Positioning System. GPS is a satellite navigation system that provides users with positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services. It allows ground users to determine their exact location, velocity, and time 24 hours a day, in all weather conditions, all over the world. The system consists of three different segments: the space segment, the control segment, and the user segment. The space segment refers to the GPS satellites orbiting the Earth, the control segment consists of a network of ground control stations that monitor and control the satellites, and the user segment consists of the GPS receiver equipment that receives the signals from the GPS satellites and uses the transmitted information to calculate the users three-dimensional position and time.
