India's second nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine is named INS Arighaat. It is an Arihant-class submarine, commissioned on August 29, 2024, in Visakhapatnam. INS Arighaat is an upgraded version of the first submarine INS Arihant and can carry both K-15 and K-4 submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) with ranges of about 750 kilometers and over 3,500 kilometers, respectively. It plays a crucial role in India's nuclear triad and strategic deterrence capabilities.
