The PSAT, or Preliminary SAT, is scored on a scale of 320-1520. This total score is the sum of the two main sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) and Math, each scored on a scale of 160-760. The percentile ranking on the PSAT score report shows how a test-taker compares to the scores of test-takers nationwide, representing the percentage of test-takers whose scores fell at or below the student’s score. A good PSAT score is generally considered to be between 1210 and 1520, which would put the test-taker in the top 10% of test takers.
